Clean Camden Toolkits
Increasing fines for illegally dumping rubbish
Camden wanted to take stronger action against those who commit environmental crimes affecting Camden's street scene.
The fine for littering - including the dropping of cigarette butts - has now been raised to £100.
From Monday 1 April 2019 the cost of fines for the illegal dumping of rubbish and business waste increased.
- fly-tipping maximum penalty increased to £400 (discounted to £200 if paid early)
- business waste - 'failure to comply with a waste receptacle notice' penalty increased to £110 (discounted to £80 if paid early)
West Hampstead Coffee Cup Challenge
Clean Camden and Veolia are supporting the West Hampstead Coffee Cup Challenge – WHAT’s campaign to reduce the amount of ‘single-use’ cups that are thrown away in West Hampstead every day.
Use our ‘community powered’ Camden Coffee Cup Map to find where you can save money with a reusable mug in West Hampstead.
Great British September Clean 2020
Clean Camden and Veolia will be supporting the Great British September Clean (GBSC). The GBSC is a UK-wide clean-up event, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, which you can:
- pledge to take part individually
- organise a private litter pick with up to five other friends or family members
We will be able to provide registered Camden based residents and groups with litter picks and bags for their clean up event. These will be available for collection, by appointment only.
Please note - Regent's Canal, Regent's Park and Hampstead Heath are not managed or maintained by Camden. We would advise you to contact the appropriate land manager first if you intend to pick litter in one of these spaces.
