The census is a survey of all people and households in England and Wales, which takes place every ten years. The next census is scheduled for March 2021.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is responsible for planning and running Census 2021, and unlike previous censuses, Census 2021 will be predominately online. As we approach March 2021, households will receive a letter with an internet access code for the online form.
It is important everyone takes part in the census as the information collected from it provides a detailed snapshot of communities and helps to inform planning and funding decisions in local areas around England and Wales, including in Camden. The NHS, local government, charities and many other organisations will use the information from the census to plan housing, education, health and transport services for years to come.
Jobs supporting Census 2021
In the lead-up to Census 2021, ONS will be recruiting for a number of roles to support the census.
Currently ONS is recruiting various roles to encourage participation in Census 2021. In Camden applications are now open for Community Advisor (CA) roles, and ONS is seeking candidates to work with Arab, Black Caribbean, Chinese, Indian and Somali communities to help improve community outreach.
