Transport strategies and plans

Camden, along with the whole of London, is facing urgent and significant challenges: deteriorating air quality, carbon emissions, increasing congestion as well as inactivity.

Our transport strategy sets out some of these challenges and outlines a range of policies and actions to address them to make Camden a better place to live work and do business.

Camden’s Draft Transport Strategy 2019-2041

Give your views on our draft Transport Strategy which aims to improve transport across the borough.

The Mayor of London recently published his Transport Strategy (MTS), which sets out his vision for London for the next 23 years. All London boroughs are required to produce a Local Implementation Plan (LIP) to demonstrate how they will help to deliver the Mayor’s strategy locally alongside their own priorities.

Our current LIP is part our broader transport strategy 2011 which currently provides the basis for all transport projects in the borough. We have prepared a new draft Transport Strategy, which includes our Local Implementation Plan. Our draft strategy aims to transform transport and mobility in Camden, enabling and encouraging people to travel, and goods to be transported, healthily and sustainably. It sets our objectives, policies and measures for achieving this goal.

Our priorities include:

•    increasing walking and cycling
•    improving public transport in the borough
•    reducing car ownership and use
•    improving the quality of our air
•    making our streets and transport networks safe, accessible and inclusive for all

Now we’d like your input. We want to know what you think of our draft strategy.
