Green Homes Grant
Local Authority Delivery Scheme and Home Upgrade Grant
Camden Council has received funding to deliver the Green Homes Grant in partnership with Warmworks. The Green Homes Grant is a scheme for homeowners and private landlords to fund the installation of energy efficiency measures in their homes. The improvements could help save up to £600 a year on energy bills, make homes warmer and more comfortable.
The Local Authority Delivery Scheme offers grant funding of up to £10k for homeowners. There is also £5k funding available per property for private landlords to help cover two thirds of the works.
The Home Upgrade Grant is solely aimed at residents in off-gas heated homes; these are properties that are not heated via a gas boiler. Under this grant, homeowners can receive a grant of up to £25k. Landlords are entitled to a grant of up to £16,666, again covering two thirds of the works.
Eligibility
To be eligible for either grant, households must:
- Have an income of £30,000 or less, or £20,000 or less after housing costs
- Live in a property with an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of D, E, F or G (the four lowest ratings)
Private landlords are eligible for the funding if their tenants meet the above criteria.
Energy Efficiency Measures
Any measure which improves the energy rating of the property is eligible. This includes: Wall, floor, loft, and roof insulation, low carbon heat systems (such as air source heat pumps), energy efficient doors and windows, heating controls, hot water tank insulation and more.
Please note that fossil fuel heating systems such as gas boilers (whether installed as new or as repairs to existing systems) are not eligible under this scheme.
