Female Sensory Support Worker (Communicator Guide) - Southwark

The Communicator Guide service supports adults and older people who have developed hearing and sight loss – known as acquired deafblindness. A communicator guide offers 1:1 support in people homes and in the community. We support individuals to do things they want to, not to do things for them. You will be working in the London Borough of Southwark area, in the community supporting 1 individual who would like support to access the community for 2x 5 hour sessions per week. For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

About Us

Sense is a national disability charity supporting everyone who is deafblind or has complex disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to take part in life, no matter their disability. Our work empowers thousands of people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities to communicate, experience the world and fulfill their potential. Work at Sense can be demanding and so isn’t for everyone, but it is also incredibly rewarding and valuable.
