Volunteer to help people get online
Join our network of Volunteer Digital Champions to help people in Camden get online and develop the digital skills and confidence they need for everyday life.
Our Digital Champions are volunteers who support individuals or small groups with digital skills. This could include helping someone use a smartphone, access online services, stay in touch with family and friends, or build confidence using technology. Volunteers may provide one-to-one support or help at group sessions in libraries, community centres and other local venues. Digital Champions can also signpost people to useful local services and sources of support.
What a Digital Champion does
Digital Champions can support people in different ways depending on their interests, skills and availability. This could include helping at a drop-in session, supporting a small group workshop, giving a short talk about topics such as staying safe online, or providing one-to-one support to someone who needs extra help. Whether you're working with an individual or a group, your role is to help people build confidence and develop digital skills in a friendly and supportive environment.
You don't need to know the answer to every question. The role is about listening, encouraging and helping people develop confidence with technology at their own pace.
Become a Digital Champion
If you enjoy helping others, have patience to support people at their own pace, and are enthusiastic about making a difference in your community, we'd like to hear from you.
Volunteering is flexible – you can volunteer as often as you'd like, from as little as one session (2 to 3 hours) per month to several sessions a week. We're especially looking for people who are available during the day.
No previous teaching or technical experience is required. We provide free CPD-certified training, resources and ongoing support to help you feel confident in the role.

Travel expenses within London are covered, and volunteers may also be eligible for additional rewards, recognition and other opportunities depending on their level of involvement and time volunteered.
