Estate parking permits
Anybody can apply to rent a parking space on one of Camden’s housing estates, but If you are a tenant or leaseholder, your rent account must be in credit before applying for an estate parking permit.
We prioritise applications and allocate spaces as follows:
- Tenants and leaseholders resident on the estate – blue badge holders take priority
- Blue badge holders on neighbouring estates
- Tenants and leaseholders on neighbouring estates
- Tenants and leaseholders on all other estates
- Business, private lettings and staff
Who cannot apply
If you are resident on an estate managed by a tenant management organisation, you will need to apply for and/or renew your permit with them and will not be able to apply online.
What you will need
To apply you will need:
- V5c
- Certificate of car insurance
If no spaces are available when you apply, your name will be added to a waiting list and you will be contacted once a space becomes available.
Apply
After selecting ‘apply for a parking space on a housing estate’ you will be taken to an interactive map of the borough. All available spaces will be shown as a green dot on the map. Select your required space and then select ‘apply here’ which will take you to an application form.
Visitor permits
If you are a tenant or leaseholder you can apply for a visitor permit. If you are visiting someone on a Camden housing estate, the person you are visiting must give you a visitors parking permit. Permits must be displayed in the windscreen of the vehicle.
How to apply
Daily permits cost £5 and weekly permits cost £10.
You can also apply by calling 020 7974 4444 and give 48 hours’ notice. Payment is made by credit or debit card. Parking permits ordered over the phone are sent in the post using first class delivery.
On estates which use access keys and fobs, a £50 deposit is required which is refunded when the keys are returned.

Daily permits cost £5 and weekly permits cost £10.
Scratch cards
If you are a resident on the Alexandra or Ainsworth estate, you can buy visitors permits as scratch cards. A single scratch card is valid for three hours and costs 50 pence.
Scratch cards must be clearly displayed on the windscreen of the vehicle.
How to apply
To apply for a scratch card, call us on 020 7974 4444. Scratch cards will be sent out by first class post.
Parking charge notice
If your vehicle is parked on a Camden housing estate without clearly displaying a valid permit, we will issue you with a parking charge notice (PCN) of either £80 or £100 depending on the circumstances of the offence. This must be paid within 28 days of the notice being served.
A reduced charge of £40 or £60 is payable if the PCN is paid within 14 days.

Garages and sheds
Anybody can apply to rent a garage or shed on one of Camden’s housing estates, but If you are a tenant or leaseholder, your rent account must be in credit before applying for an estate parking permit.

How to apply for a shed on a housing estate
If the shed area is fob protected, only residents from that block can rent that shed.
A shed is rented on a licence which can be terminated by either party giving ten days’ notice.

How to apply for a garage on a housing estate
Garages can be rented to store a vehicle or for other storage purposes. They are rented on a licence which can be terminated by either party giving seven days’ notice.
If you are resident on an estate managed by a tenant management organisation (TMO) you will need to apply for a garage directly with the TMO and will not be able to apply here.

Lost permits and swapping bays
- Lost permits will incur a £20 admin charge for replacement.
- Swapping bays will incur a £20 admin charge.
An estate parking space is rented on a license. Either party can terminate the license with a notice period of seven days.
