Tell us about abandoned vehicles and bikes

Report an abandoned motor vehicle

Please send as much information as possible to help us locate the motor vehicle including:

  • the registration number (if the vehicle has one)
  • address/location description (e.g. outside 34 Smith Street)
  • full vehicle description (e.g. colour, make & model)
  • photo of the vehicle

Alternatively, you can email us at street.environment@camden.gov.uk about an abandoned motor vehicle. 

Retrieve a reported vehicle

If you need to retrieve a vehicle that you believe has been treated by us as an abandoned vehicle please email us at street.environment@camden.gov.uk with the vehicle details.

Penalty for abandoning a vehicle

A person found guilty of abandoning a vehicle can face a fine of up to £2,500. A fixed penalty notice can also be given.

Report an abandoned bike

You can report a bike that has been abandoned on our streets or at our public bike stands. 
A bike is considered abandoned if it has not moved for a long time or is not in a roadworthy condition - where it has damaged or rusted parts; or is missing key components like wheels, a chain, or saddle.

Alternatively you can also report an abandoned bike by email to street.environment@camden.gov.uk. Please provide as much information as possible to help us locate the bike and tell us why you think it is abandoned.  

There are different ways to report a dockless hire bike causing an obstruction.
