Proud to Care London links people into crucial jobs in care, in partnership with councils across London.
Jobs available
Working in the care sector makes a real difference to people’s lives. There are a number of job roles that you can register your interest in. Please note, most roles currently available are for care workers.

Care workers - provide safe, reliable, compassionate care and support to enable people to live as independently as they can, and to get the most out of life. Experience is not essential as training will be provided as well as support.

Care managers - responsible for managing all the activity of a care service e.g. the team, payroll, training and more. This role requires someone to have completed training and be registered with the Care Quality Commission.

Social workers - Social workers provide advice, support and resources to individuals and families to help them live their lives. A social worker needs to hold a qualification and be registered with Social Work England.

Occupational Therapists - Occupational therapists treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They need to hold a qualification and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Chef - need to be able to cater for large groups of people, many of whom may have specialist requirements.

Cleaners – looking for people who are passionate about providing the very best cleaning and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
How Proud to Care works
Once you have completed the short online registration form you will be called by a member of the Proud to Care team.
The team will:

Talk to you about what it is like to work in the care sector

Discuss types of roles available and what days and hours you are looking to work

Carry out pre-employment checks. Please note that to do this, you will be asked to give the team details of two people who could provide references for you.

Where needed, support you to access free online care worker training (if you have access to a computer)

And most importantly, will put you in touch with your local council who will match you to suitable local job opportunities.
If you are matched directly with a job opportunity you will be able to talk to the employer about the exact details and expectations of the job.
Keeping care workers safe
The health and safety of London’s care workers is incredibly important. Caring is a frontline job and without healthy care workers those most vulnerable in our communities won’t get the support they need to thrive.
The Government has committed to increasing the numbers of care workers being tested for Covid-19, and any resident showing symptoms in a care home will be tested to prevent outbreaks.
The way PPE is being delivered to care providers is also being rapidly overhauled, with care homes and other care facilities being supported to order and receive PPE (personal protective equipment) faster.
