Chester Balmore
This development replaced the existing 25 homes and 12 commercial units with 53 new homes of mixed tenure including council rented, Shared Ownership and homes for sale. The scheme also included a new GP surgery, as well as shops and a café for local residents.
At the time of completion, Chester Balmore was the largest Passivhaus housing scheme in Camden.
Passivhaus certification means homes meet the highest standard of energy efficiency, with triple glazed windows and walls designed to retain heat. Thanks to the sustainable design, residents are able to cut emissions and keep their energy bills down over the winter.
