Is becoming a carer right for me? - Camden Shared Lives

Is becoming a carer right for me?

About

Shared Lives care isn’t about being someone’s parent it is about supporting someone to be as independent as possible and to find their own way in the world.

A lot of people enjoy being a Shared Lives carer because it means you can be flexible with your routine, unlike a regular 9am-5pm job.

As part of the assessment process we will look at your lifestyle, commitments and routine and help to introduce you to someone who will fit in with and add to your lifestyle.

Some of Shared Lives carers join us after having been foster parents for young people. Others might have considered fostering but decided sharing their home with an adult suited them more.

Love and family

“Being part of Shared Lives has helped me to focus on something beside myself. I love when Rosemary visits at the weekends. She joins in with all our family birthdays and family Sunday lunchtime – my family love her.” – Denise, Shared Lives Carer
