About the Shared Lives Camden panel - Camden Shared Lives

The Shared Lives Camden panel and the independent panel chair make sure that we are accepting high quality carers to join the Shared Lives scheme. The panel is made up of independent volunteers who do not work for Shared Lives Camden.

When a carer finishes their assessment they are presented to the panel who consider if the carer would offer a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for a person with support needs.

If someone doesn’t want to carry on being a Shared Lives carer or if they are not meeting the required standard for carers the panel can also decommission them so they are no longer a carer.

The volunteers on the panel are diverse and passionate about making sure people in Camden have healthy independent lives. They are all fully trained and understand the requirements of a Shared Lives carer.
