Draft Sex Establishment Policy
Camden Council are now consulting on a revised draft of our Sex Establishment Policy.
We recognise that there are widespread views on the existence of sex establishments within our communities. We therefore need to strike a balance between the needs of our residents, businesses, visitors to Camden and operators of sex establishments. These needs may sometimes conflict and we therefore must ensure that we have a proportionate and responsive approach to regulating sex establishments.
This revised policy aims to ensure that operators of sex establishments run their premises well and in accordance with the general law, the Camden Plan and the terms and conditions of the licence. The aim of this draft policy is to provide a fair but robust approach to regulation to ensure Camden remains a safe place for everyone and we are committed to working in partnership to achieve our aims.
The proposed policy will cover a period of five years but the Council reserves the right to review the Policy at any point it deems necessary.
The revised Policy has undergone significant changes. It is the intention that these changes will provide an overall updated approach to the licensing of Sex Establishments within the Borough.
