Parent and Carer Counselling Service

This is one of the options for parents / carers who have a child with special educational needs in a early years setting or school that is maintained by Camden Council.

Parents/carers can access counselling for themselves through this service.

This does not include free schools, academies and private schools unless they buy in to the service.

What do we do?

A trained and qualified counsellor employed in the Educational Psychology Service manages the  Parent and Carer Counselling Service.

The service is for parents, foster carers and other carers of children in Camden schools and children’s centres.  Parents and carers can be offered 12  counselling sessions.

These are not delivered by educational psychologists but by people in counselling professions.

They are 1:1 sessions and they remain confidential to parents/carers and the counsellor.

Parents/carers can find out more and request support directly and confidentially.
