Local Welfare Fund claim form (v2)

If you need help you may be able to receive a one off emergency payment to help towards utility bills or food.

A hardship award is usually an e-voucher payment for electric/gas utility costs or food or in certain circumstances a direct payment to you of about 60% of your standard benefit amount depending on your circumstances and household and the budget available, i.e. a single person may be able to receive a one-off award of £50.

When considering making an award we will look at your household income and situation using our and DWP data systems and the information you give us to determine whether we can make an award.

Awards are not made to cover rent or replacement white goods or furniture, pay debts or to top up benefits.

Please note that it may take up to a week for your application to be processed due to the high demand, please do be patient and we will respond as soon as we can.  The operation of the scheme is at the Council's discretion and applicants do not have an automatic right to an award
