Hiring from Camden Music Service
Your child will need an instrument to practise on at home.
You can hire one from Camden Music Service. Please contact us on 020 7974 7239 or camdenmusic@camden.gov.uk to see if we have the instrument you need in stock and to arrange collection.
How much does it cost?
- violin, viola, guitar: £19.80
- cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone: £27.50
- saxophone, French horn, double bass, oboe, bassoon, euphonium: £39.70
You should think about insuring a hired instrument. This is because you will be responsible for any damage or loss.
We are not able to hire pianos, keyboards, recorders, ukuleles, electric guitars or drum kits.
We can help you buy a new instrument at a reduced rate. You can pay in monthly installments. Please see our Assisted Purchase scheme for details.
Help with hire cost
- We can pay half the cost of hire for any primary school child eligible for free school meals.
- If you receive Council Tax Support or Housing Benefit we may be able to pay half the cost for children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6. The money for this is generously provided by Universal Music Group for the academic year 2022 - 23.
When we are able to offer a lesson we will confirm your eligibility with the benefit department, or ask you to provide proof.
