As part of our work with our communities, we launched the Camden Climate Investment. This allows residents and organisations to make direct investments in a sustainable future for Camden.
In June 2022 we reached our £1 million investment target. The investment will help to fund local climate projects. This includes:
- installing 80 more electric vehicle charging points to encourage residents to switch to electric vehicles
- continuing the roll out of our healthy school streets initiative, which helps to improve air quality and the environment around schools
- contributing to the replacement of our diesel and petrol vehicles with green alternatives
- installing solar panels on public buildings to reduce carbon emissions and the cost of electricity
These projects are part of our Climate Action Plan, a five-year programme of projects and activities. We are working on these with our communities to help make Camden a zero-carbon borough.
