Put your recycling and rubbish bins, bags and boxes at the front of your property
House or converted house
On your collection day, you should put your recycling and rubbish bins, bags and boxes at the front boundary of your property:
- before 7am
- within one metre of the entrance of your property
- as close to the pavement as possible
- at street level – we can’t collect wheelie bins from basements or up steps
If you have no space at the front of your property, put them on the pavement. Do not block the path.
After collection, we will return your bins, bags and boxes to where you placed them. If you put them on the pavement for collection, you must take them back within 24 hours.
Communal bins
Housing estates usually have larger communal bins. If you live on an estate, ask your caretaker, on-site supervisor or a neighbour where to take your rubbish and recycling.
Flats above shops
Many flats above shops are on streets with time-banded collections.
Residents who live in flats above shops in these areas should only put their securely bagged recycling and rubbish out at set times during the day.
