Volunteering
We recognise the value volunteers add to the service. Volunteer applications are currently closed because we're at capacity. We'll reopen applications as soon as we have more capacity.
What you will do
As a volunteer, you will:

support tutors in the classroom

facilitate conversation groups in our libraries and community centres

support events and outreach activities
Volunteer requirements
To volunteer with us, you need to:

commit to a minimum 3-month placement

show enthusiasm for adult learning
How to become a volunteer
Volunteer applications are currently closed because we're at capacity. We'll update here when they reopen.
When applications reopen, you'll need to fill out an online form. We'll then invite you to an in-person volunteer recruitment session.
At this, you’ll do a written assessment to test your writing skills. There'll also be an interview, similar to a job interview.
If you pass the recruitment session, we’ll pay for you to get an Enhanced DBS certificate. You’ll also need to give us 2 references.
