Swimming for older people

If you are aged 60 or over, there are low or no cost swim classes you can join in Camden.

Free swimming for over 60s 

Free swimming for Camden residents aged 60+ who have a Better Pay and Play membership which costs £5.90 per year. 

Weekdays between 6.30am and midday at Camden Better Leisure Centres: 

  • Kentish Town Leisure Centre, Grafton Road, NW5 3DU 
  • Oasis Sports Centre, 32, Endell Street, WC2H 9AG 
  • Pancras Square Leisure, 5 Pancras Square, N1C 4AG 
  • Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre, Adelaide Road, NW3 3NF

Swimming on Hampstead Heath 

Single adult session £4.50, concession rate £2.70 

Cashless payment is preferred. Correct change cannot be guaranteed for cash transactions. 

Hampstead Heath offers 4 places to swim: 

  • Parliament Hill Lido, a 60-metre-long open-air swimming pool, open 365 days a year 
  • Ladies’ Pond, a natural bathing pond, open 365 days a year 
  • Men’s Pond, a natural bathing pond, open 365 days a year 
  • Mixed Pond, a natural bathing pond, open from April to October. 

Adults aged 60 and over are eligible for a free morning swim from 7 until 9.30am, by showing suitable proof of age. 

Swimming tickets are available on a pay-as-you-go basis or as a season ticket at a range of prices, including concessionary rates.  

No booking is required outside of the summer months.
