Camden Adult Community Learning service (ACL) has made sure we have complied with the Government guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19.

Camden operates an environment that promotes wellbeing and ensures personal safety, security and wellbeing.

We have:

• Carried out a COVID-19 Service Risk Assessment that has been approved by Camden Health and Safety, Unison and Camden Directors Management Team.
• Set up a Health and Safety working group that meets as a minimum weekly to discuss changes in Government guidance and to monitor the safe delivery of our provision.

All Camden ACL staff have all completed training by Public Health England on:

• COVID-19 security and test, track and trace works and
• Psychological First Aid

Learners enrolled on family learning, digital skills, health and wellbeing, ESOL and employability courses were asked a set of questions to find out how safe they felt attending ACL courses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our face-to-face courses will be delivered in centres that have met COVID-19 health and safety guidelines and standards as set by Camden Council.

If you believe you may have any of the COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend class.  You will need to self-isolate and arrange for a test. 

Find guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

If you test positive, you must notify your tutor as soon as possible.  You should not return to the class and centre until you receive confirmation from your tutor.

Government guidance is that masks should be worn in enclosed public spaces.  You are required to wear a face covering in class and in the centre.  If you are exempt from wearing a face covering you must notify before starting the course.

Centres will have:

• cleaning, handwashing, hygiene procedures
• social distancing requirements in line with guidance
• classroom seating arrangement set up within guidance of 1.5 minimum social distancing
• please bring in minimal personal items to the classroom
• please bring in your own water or hot drink
• after the lesson has finished, please leave the building promptly
• when in the building please always maintain a 2-metre distance from other people

Your tutor will talk you through the health and safety guidance for the classroom and centre.

Many of our courses are now being delivered online using the latest digital teaching methods.

When you enrol on your chosen course we ask you to agree to respect the privacy and safety of yourself and others on the course:

I will not take photographs or make recordings of people on my course.

It is important for us to create a safe environment for you to learn online.  The tutor will be playing their part in keeping the platforms we use secure.

Your tutor will:

• guide you through e-safety and e-responsibilities during the first session of your course
• explain the consequences of inappropriate behaviour including the possibility of being excluded from the course
