Camden Apprenticeships is an award winning service that has created almost 900 apprenticeship vacancies since it was set up in 2010.

Who is our service for?

Our service is for people aged 16+ who are Camden residents, former Camden secondary school students or Camden care leavers.

What support do we provide?

We provide exclusive access to a range of apprenticeship opportunities both in the Council and with local employers.
 
Applicants take part in an assessment process to identify whether a role is right for them. Support is offered throughout all stages of the assessment process to give applicants the best chance of success, including CV guidance and feedback on interview technique.
 
The assessment process is used to decide when is the right time to progress applicants to final interview stage for a role that interests them.
 
Those who successfully access an apprenticeship can continue to contact the team at any point in their contract for information, advice or assistance.

What kind of apprenticeships do we have?

  • We create apprenticeships both within Camden council and on behalf of local employers in a range of sectors.
  • The types of apprenticeship on offer depend on employer demand. Business administration apprenticeships are the most common, but we create other apprenticeships as well. Apprenticeships are available throughout the year, in accordance with the needs of our employers.
  • We offer different levels of apprenticeship, depending on the complexity of the role, but these normally range from level 2 up to level 4. 

Entry requirements

  • You must be a Camden resident, former Camden secondary school student or Camden care leaver aged 16 or over to be eligible for our service. There is no upper age limit and graduates are also eligible.
  • You must hold a British or European passport or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
  • You do NOT need any previous qualifications but would need to meet the minimum English and maths levels for apprenticeships. We can assess candidates that have no formal qualifications or certificates to check you meet these minimum requirements.

The Francis Crick Institute - Public Engagement Apprentice

The Francis Crick Institute is recruiting a Public Engagement Apprentice

The Francis Crick Institute is recruiting a Camden resident, former Camden secondary school student or Camden care leaver to become Public Engagement Apprentice. The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical discovery institute, and charity, researching the biology underlying human health. This Event Assistant Apprenticeship sits within the Crick’s Public Engagement team that works to engage and inspire the public about science and the Crick. Based in a state-of-the-art building just opposite St Pancras Station in King’s Cross, London.

The Details:

  • Salary: £16,324 and up, depending on experience
  • Apprenticeship: Event Assistant level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Hours: 36-hours per week
  • Contract length: 24 months
  • Location: St Pancras/Kings Cross

What is the role of the Public Engagement team?

This role will be part of the Crick’s Public Engagement team, which is responsible for a range of activity including public events and exhibitions, community engagement, and education outreach. The Crick believes that science is so important that everyone should have the chance to explore and help shape it – especially reaching people who do not currently engage with science.  

About the role

This is an ideal first step for someone looking to develop a role within events and outreach. Over the duration of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience across all functions of the team including; administration, event planning, customer service and the opportunity to be involved in a range of public engagement activities. You will also get qualifications and training that will allow you to apply for further roles including those in galleries and museums, event production, science education, public engagement, and university administration.

Essential

  • A positive attitude, flexible approach to work and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • A keen interest in events and community engagement and a willingness to learn and put in the necessary work to gain the Level 3 Apprenticeship

  • Competent user of Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new programmes quickly
  • Good organisation skills and a high standard of reliability and time keeping
  • Ability to work as part of, and contribute to, a team
  • Potential and willingness to study to gain L2 English and Maths qualifications, which are a requirement of the apprenticeship, during the probation period (if not already achieved).

Camden Carers Service-Reception Administrator Apprentice

Camden Carers is recruiting a Communications Reception Administrator Apprentice

Camden Carers is offering an exciting opportunity to a 16 + Camden resident, Camden care leavers or former Camden Secondary School student to become a Communications Reception Administrator Administrative Apprentice. Whilst working you will also study towards and complete an advanced qualification in Customer Service level 3.

Details:

  • Salary: 35 hours -£15000pa or £288pw.
  • Hours:  9 – 5, Monday – Friday  with a 1 hour lunch break
  • Contract length: 18 months
  • Apprenticeship: Customer Service level 3
  • Based: Kentish Town

Camden Carers offers information, advice and support to unpaid adult carers (18+) living, working or studying in Camden, or caring for someone who lives in Camden. Camden Carers is also the gateway to a wide range of services provided by other local organisations and agencies working with carers in Camden.
It is a full time post working four days with flexibility on the fifth day for a mix of study, mentorship and some duties.

An exciting opportunity for you to train, earn and learn. T-Tech is offering the chance for a Camden resident, former Camden secondary school student or Camden care leaver to become an Apprentice Service Desk Analyst studying for NVQ Level 3 Infrastructure Technician qualification.
