Delivering community benefits and local improvements to Euston

We are committed to ensuring development in the Euston area delivers real benefits for local communities both during construction and beyond. 

Alongside the long-term vision for the area, we are delivering and supporting a range of initiatives that provide community benefits, improve the area, and create opportunities for local people while construction is underway. 

From skills and employment programmes to open space improvements and supporting community organisations, these initiatives are helping to deliver benefits for local people today while contributing to Euston's longer-term future.

Euston Skills Centre

The Euston Skills Centre is a training and employment hub, delivered in partnership with United Colleges Group, supporting Camden residents to gain practical skills and access construction jobs and apprenticeships across the borough. 

It was secured by us as part of our assurances from Government to help reduce the impacts of HS2 construction on residents and businesses. It is funded by HS2 Ltd alongside the Greater London Authority who funded support for green skills training.

Located next to the HS2 site, the centre is ideally positioned to connect residents to opportunities linked to HS2 and the Euston station development.

Investing in green and open spaces

We are investing in greener, healthier streets and public spaces across Euston, Regent’s Park and Somers Town, helping to address the impacts of HS2 construction and improve the local environment.

Many of these improvements are part-funded by HS2 Ltd and are helping to restore and enhance green and open spaces in the area. This includes new planting and trees, upgraded public spaces, and redesigned safe and healthy streets that prioritise walking, wheeling and cycling. 

Euston Community Hub

The Euston Community Hub, located on North Gower Street, was set up to support and benefit the communities around Euston throughout the construction of HS2 and the station redevelopment.

The Hub provides a welcoming, dynamic space where local people can learn more about the Euston development project and attend a range of activities run by local voluntary and community sector organisations.

HS2 Community and Business Funds

HS2’s Community and Environment Fund (CEF) and Business and Local Economy Fund (BLEF) support local communities and businesses along the route who are impacted by construction works. 

These funds will support initiatives including health and wellbeing, enhancing sports and recreational facilities, and public realm enhancements.
