COVID-19 in Camden

Camden's Local Outbreak Prevention Control Plan

The Council continues to work closely with our public health team to monitor cases of COVID-19 in high-risk settings and has procedures in place as part of our Local Outbreak Prevention Control Plan (PDF) to manage any potential outbreaks in our communities.

COVID-19 resident engagement

The Camden and Islington Public Health team, colleagues from both councils, Islington Healthwatch, Camden Healthwatch, North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group and local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations have been working together to take forward a programme of resident engagement work since the summer 2020. The purpose of this resident engagement was to gain an understanding of how local communities and residents understand and engage with COVID-19 prevention and control measures, and how they feel they have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on inequality. The aim of this work is to inform how local systems can better support residents, in particular our more vulnerable residents, throughout the pandemic.

The COVID-19 full report sets out the findings from the research and actions for all stakeholders from across the system to take forward.

London Region Good Practice Network Insight Report

In May 2020, a Good Practice Network of 11 councils from across the country was chosen to get feedback on NHS Test and Trace.

In Camden, we’ve played a leading role in the London Region Good Practice Network. We have worked with the other three boroughs in the network: Barnet, Hackney and Newham. Together, we’ve been working openly and transparently to understand what barriers we need to overcome so that all Londoners feel safe, reassured and able to access it.

In August 2020, we published the London Region Good Practice Network Insight Report and an Executive Summary. This includes a detailed overview of our shared work, learning and achievements over the past few months. It’s split by three key themes:

  • communications
  • local and regional capacity
  • building trust and wraparound support.
