Introduction to working with residents safely during Covid-19

This section is a summary of the key COVID-19 guidance and resources for council staff, commissioned services and other providers who are working on the frontline in the community.

Please note that local guidance below does not replace national guidance, but it has been produced to support council staff and providers to interpret and use national guidance in specific local services and situations, taking full account of national guidance and evidence.
COVID-19 is an emerging area and guidance is regularly being updated to reflect the changing situation and developing evidence. Please always check these pages to make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of guidance.

Unless otherwise stated, the guidance documents on these pages have been put together by Islington and Camden Public Health. For any enquires related to these documents, please email CIPHAdmin@islington.gov.uk.

Camden’s Local Outbreak Prevention and Control Plan (PDF)

On 30 June, the Council published its Local Outbreak Prevention and Control Plan which explains how we will support all of our residents, communities and businesses to understand and follow public health advice to prevent and control the spread of coronavirus. This includes advice to have a test if you develop symptoms and if you test positive for COVID-19, to help trace people who you have been in contact with via NHS Test and Trace so that they can then self-isolate and help prevent further spread of infection.

The Plan also explains our role in working with local and national partners to investigate, manage and control local outbreaks to keep Camden safe.

Local outbreak planning together with testing and contact tracing - via NHS Test and Trace – will play a core role in our ongoing response to coronavirus.

The Plan will continue to be reviewed and updated as we learn more at a local and national level.
