Parks and open spaces
Parks unlocking pilot
We are considering how we can reduce costs within the next grounds maintenance contract and, as part of this, we have been exploring a flexible approach to when parks are locked.
Between 30 May to 26 June 2016 we ran a pilot scheme which included keeping 31 parks across the borough unlocked out of hours. We are currently reviewing options for the parks locking regime that will be included in the new grounds maintenance contract from April 2017. To find out more visit our Parks unlocking pilot information page.
Camden’s green spaces
Green spaces help improve the quality of life for people living in, working in and visiting the area. Camden Council manages 68 parks and open spaces, many of which are important historically, such as former burial grounds, manors, private gardens and London squares.
