The Camden Business Board (CBB) is an advisory body bringing together representatives of Camden’s business community to secure inclusive growth and get the best outcomes for Camden in response to national policy developments and economic opportunities as they emerge.

The role of the CBB is to: 

  1. Represent the views of the business community to the council.
  2. Help the council and partners to communicate with the wider Camden business community 
  3. Facilitate and initiate mutually beneficial collaboration between businesses, the council, schools and community organisations.

 

The CBB undertakes these roles with the aim of:

  1. Making Camden the best place to do business in London 
  2. Promoting Inclusive Growth 
  3. Supporting Camden Plan objectives, Creating conditions for and harnessing the benefits of economic growth

 

Status

The CBB is a discussion and consultation forum for the purpose of providing feedback, advice and recommendations from the perspective of business. It is also a forum for collaboration between member business groups and the council. 

The CBB is independent from the council and is not a formally constituted decision-making group in terms of council policy. The Council welcomes and will respond to CBB advice on areas of interest to businesses.

Membership

The CBB is made up of representatives from business groups that operate in Camden. The following business groups will be asked to nominate a representative to sit on the CBB as long as they continue to operate in the borough.

Business Groups:

  • All Business Improvement Districts in the borough
  • Midtown Business Club
  • Urban Partners for King’s Cross, Euston and St Pancras 
  • Federation of Small Businesses
  • The Francis Crick Institute (representing the Life Sciences)
  • Google (representing the Tech sector)
  • Grant Thornton (representing the Professional Services)
  • University College London (representing Higher Education and Research)
