Camden’s Transport Strategy 2011

When it comes to transport, like all London boroughs, we face a variety of challenges, from increasing congestion to the growing significance of climate change.

Our Transport Strategy for 2011-31 sets out some of these challenges and outlines a range of policies and actions to address them.

We undertook extensive consultation on the draft transport strategy during January and February 2011.  We received 136 responses including written comments as well as completed questionnaire answers to specific questions.

Updated Camden Transport Strategy

The Mayor of London recently published his Transport Strategy (MTS), which sets out his vision for London for the next 23 years. All London boroughs are statutorily required to produce a Local Implementation Plan (LIP) to demonstrate how they will help to deliver the Mayor’s strategy locally alongside their own priorities.

Our current LIP is part our broader transport strategy (above) which provides the basis for all transport projects in the borough. This strategy is now seven years old. The borough, and indeed London, have changed significantly since then, bringing new challenges as well as opportunities.

To reflect these changes, we are preparing a new transport strategy. To help shape this new strategy we are engaging with our partners and colleagues from across the council. We would also like to get the views from our residents to help inform our plans.

We therefore invite you to our workshop event which will take place on Wednesday 4th Julyat the Friends House on Euston Road between 6.30 and 9.30pm. The event will include a presentation by Camden’s Cabinet Member for Improving Camden’s Environment, Cllr Adam Harrison, followed by a brief Q&A session and workshop type group discussions.

Your input will be documented and written up in a report which will accompany Camden's draft LIP submission to TfL in October 2018. You will be able to read the draft transport strategy and provide further comments during the formal consultation period from November 2018 to January 2019.

We look forward to hearing your input at the event.

Please RSVP to the event through the Eventbrite page:
