What: Celebrating Parents fun day

The third annual ‘Celebrating Parents’ fun day takes places on Saturday 18 October at Haverstock School from 1pm to 5pm, 24 Haverstock Hill, NW3.

The event is part of National Parents’ Week and is open to all parents, carers and children in Camden.  Attractions for all ages include rock climbing, tea dance, music, bouncy castles and craft activities. There is also a separate under fives’ area. Arsenal football team’s community department will be holding coaching sessions, warm-ups and family football matches.

More than 30 stalls will have information for parents and carers on health, organisations that work with parents and children and on a wide range of issues that affect families.

The day is organised by the borough’s Parent Council which exists to ensure that parents have a say on how services are provided for their children. Parents interested in joining the Parent Council can find out how on the day.

The Mayor of Camden Councillor Nurul Islam said:

"I am delighted to be opening this event which is a wonderful way of families in the borough to get together, have fun and learn a bit more about our Parent Council and what the borough provides for parents."

Councillor Janet Grauberg, Executive Member for Children said:

"The Celebrating Parents Fun Days are always great events. This year’s is a terrific opportunity for parents to have fun with their children and learn more about services available to them. I hope lots of parents and children will come along and take part."
