Community exercise programme Badminton session

Come along to our drop in badminton sessions to learn the basics and meet other people who are looking for a fun introduction to the game.

The instructor will introduce you to the basics of the game and you will get the chance to practice with other newcomers.

Where is the class?

How do I join?

  • The first session is free.
  • After this each session costs £3 for residents and £6 for non-residents (unless stated).
  • You will need to buy an exercise voucher from any Camden library
  • Take the voucher along to the session and meet the instructor (make sure you arrive 10 minutes before your first session to register).
  • You can save time by filling out our welcome survey before attending and taking it with you.


Why should I try badminton?

Badminton allows for a wide range of physical movement, from sprints and jumps to twists and turns. You can play it fast or reasonably slowly.  Which gives you the opportunity to burn those calories if you wish and really improve fitness levels, or simply take it easy and enjoy the game.

It is a simpler game to pick up than tennis as the shuttlecock slows down in the air. You'll find you can quickly learn how to keep a rally going with a partner.

Most importantly, badminton is great fun! Physical activity makes you feel great and if you decide to give this one a try you should leave the court having really enjoyed yourself.

What should I wear?

This is an active session in a sports hall so you should wear trainers and comfortable light clothes you can move around the court in. It's a good idea to bring a bottle of water with you and there are changing facilities at the centre.
