Improving green spaces

Camden is investing £5 million to improve our green spaces and the health of Camden residents between 2016 – 2021.

Funded mainly through Section 106 agreements with developers, the agreements allow us to use financial contributions to fund local improvements to benefit our communities.

We hope our Green Space Investment Programme will attract more people to parks and open spaces and help create inclusive, vibrant and healthy communities.

Works that have been completed in the last year include new play equipment and greening in Falkland Place, a refurbished play area in Quex Road and wildlife attracting planting in St Andrew’s Gardens.  We think this is money well spent and the investment will help more of Camden’s residents to enjoy the benefits of our green spaces like exercise, better fitness, reduced rates of obesity and improved mental health and will help cut down on money spent on health later in life.
