How to appeal a Housing Application decision

You have the right to information on how we have assessed your housing application. If we decide that you are ineligible or do not qualify for housing, we will let you know in writing.

You can request a review of a decision on your housing application up to 21 days from the date of the letter.

Please be aware that the decision is unlikely to change unless your circumstances have changed since your application was assessed.



We have a two stage review procedure:

Stage 1: If you disagree with a decision, you can ask us to reconsider it up to 21 days after we have issued the decision. Within 14 days of receiving your reasons and any further information you provide, the officer will advise you of any change to their decision.

Stage 2: You can also request a review of the stage 1 decision. You must do so within 21 days of the decision being issued and should provide your reasons for disagreement in writing and send us any other information that you would like us to consider as part of the review. A reviewing officer, who was not involved in the original decision, will review the decision within 56 days of your request and let you know the outcome in writing.

The timescales above may be extended in exceptional circumstances.
