Examination

The Council has appointed Ms Jill Kingaby BSc (Econ) MSc MRTPI as independent examiner for the Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan. The Examiner will consider the representations submitted to the Council and whether the Plan meets the ‘Basic Conditions’.

On 17th January 2018 the Council received the following letter from the Examiner about procedural matters for the examination.

Submission  Draft consultation

The Submission Draft version of the Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan has been submitted by Hampstead Neighbourhood Forum to Camden Council. A six week consultation ended in December 2017. The representations received during this consultation are available to view below.

Next steps 

The Examiner will consider the representations submitted during the Submission Draft consultation and determine whether the Plan meets a number of statutory tests (’Basic Conditions’). The Examiner’s report can recommend one of three main recommendations: (i) the plan proceeds to referendum (ii) the plan proceeds to referendum with modifications (iii) the plan should not proceed to referendum. Before a neighbourhood plan can proceed to referendum, the Council is required to set out its response to each of the examiner’s recommendations and publish a ‘Decision Statement’.

Area and Forum Designations

On 7 October 2014 London Borough of Camden approved the designation of the Neighbourhood Area and the Neighbourhood Forum. A public consultation on the Forum and Area applications took place between 12th June to 25th July 2014.

The approved applications can be viewed below and they show the area in which the neighbourhood planning powers apply.
