Black Pound Day

Black Pound Day and Camden Council Business Survey

At Camden Council, we’re proud to have such a diverse business community in the borough and we’re committed to understanding the specific needs of our local business economy.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Black Pound Day to support Black owned businesses across Camden.

If you’re a Black business owner or entrepreneur, we recognise that the challenges you face may not be the same as other businesses’. We’ve launched a business survey to understand your experiences which will help shape how we can better support you.

If you’re a Black business owner or entrepreneur, we want to hear from you.

Next steps

We have a commitment to addressing economic inequalities that exist for Black owned businesses and will develop a targeted response using findings from the survey.

Through our partnership with Black Pound Day, we will create a programme of support including enhanced business support, profiling, and networking opportunities.

Black Pound Day partnership

Our collaboration with Black Pound Day aims to build a more inclusive business economy that ensures every Black business owner and entrepreneur has an equal opportunity to thrive and succeed.

Black Pound Day is the UK's largest economic movement that supports Black-owned businesses. Through a monthly campaign that takes place on the first Saturday of every month, Black Pound Day encourages people to support and buy from local Black owned businesses.

Founded in 2020, Black Pound Day aims to promote long-term financial growth, infrastructure stability, and empower Black communities and businesses. More recently, they opened their first permanent retail store in Europe's biggest shopping centre, Westfield London, and continue to actively support hundreds of businesses across the country.
