After school music groups

Pupils can make music after school in the following groups:

  • Camden Brass Band
  • Camden Youth Recorder Group
  • Voyagers, for children with SEND

Camden Brass Band

Camden Brass Band meets at William Ellis School every Thursday from 4.15 to 5.30pm.

Details: For brass and percussion players in Year 6 and above who have been playing for at least a year and who love to play popular, well known tunes. This band plays at exciting venues such as the British Library.

Cost: £62.36 per term (help is available to those eligible for free school meals)

Next steps: Camden Philharmonic Band, Camden Concert Band, Jazz groups.

Camden Youth Recorder Group

Camden Youth Recorder Group meets at Regent High School every Thursday from 4.30 - 5.45pm.

Details: For players of all sizes of recorder. Particularly aimed at pupils in Year 4 and above who can read music and are beyond beginner level. This group aims to develop technique, a knowledge of recorder music in different styles, and listening skills. The group is led by professional recorder players and teachers, and is supported by The Flautadors, a professional recorder quartet. There are 10 sessions every term.

Cost: £62.36 per term (help is available to those eligible for free school meals)

Next steps: National Youth Recorder Orchestras.

Voyagers

A music group for primary school pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their parents or carers. The group meets on Mondays from 4.45 to 5.30pm.

Children create music together, and have fun!

Where: Edith Neville School, Polygon Road, NW1 1HQ very near King’s Cross station.

If you are unable to travel by public transport, there is paid parking on Charrington Street.

Cost: There is no charge, but we ask you to come to as many of the 10 sessions as you can as there are limited places.
