Charges for plans and building notice applications

Charges are payable to London Borough of Camden for applications under the building regulations. These charges are set out below in the current Camden scheme. These may be paid by cheque, made payable to London Borough of Camden, online with an online application or by card via telephone on 020 7974 6941.

New building control charges

From Tuesday 2 January 2012 a new set of charges were introduced. We have managed to reduce some of our charges due to he introduction of further efficiency measures. You can download a copy of the new charges directly below.

To ensure that you pay the correct amount, we recommend that you contact our building control team before making your application. We will be pleased to calculate the charge payable.

Charges are generally payable by the person who carries out the work, or on whose behalf the work is being carried out, except the regularisation charge which is payable by the owner of the building.

There is no charge for discussion of your proposals before you make an application, or for the issue of a completion certificate less than a year after the completion of the work.

Camden scheme of charges

We have adopted the scheme of charges recommended by the Local Government Association. This information is available to download below:

Note: Regularisation charges are 120% of the charges in schedule 2 and 3 above.
