Camden BSF reaches financial close

The Camden BSF contract was finalised and signed on 21 December 2010.

Three Camden school projects go ahead

On Monday 5 July 2010, central government stopped the BSF programme.

On Friday 6 August 2010, only our 'sample schemes' - the new UCL Academy (now opening in Sept 2012), Swiss Cottage and Jack Taylor special schools, and South Camden Community School were given the go ahead.

Community Liaison Groups have been set up for each of the two sites. These groups provide an opportunity for residents and others to meet with the contractor (BAM).

About BSF

Building Schools for the Future (BSF) was the biggest national schools investment programme in over 50 years. The government's plan was to rebuild or renew every secondary age state school in England. BSF was cancelled in July 2010 as part of a capital spending review.

All Camden secondary schools have produced a strategy for change, setting out how they aim to transform learning in the future. Below are the strategies for the schools which have had their funding agreed.
