Young cyclists help Camden gear up for the Olympic Games
Date:
Young cyclists aged 13 to 19 took part in a 12-mile bike ride on Sunday (2 October) as Camden gears up for its pre-Olympic activities programme.
The event started and finished at Cantelowes Skatepark, Camden Road. A shorter route of 1.5 easy miles was also organised.
Afternoon fun events, including activities for younger children, also took place and all riders received medals for participating.
Councillor Tulip Siddiq, Cabinet Member for Culture, said: “Congratulations to all the young cyclists who took part in the bike ride. This is a great way to celebrate sports and youth activities in the run-up to us being a gateway borough for the London 2012 Olympic Games.”
