Scratch-off permits for trades people
We issue scratch-off permits for trades people. These can be bought instead of, or as well as, the existing permission to park permits.
Scratch off permits can be bought in bulk and can be used as and when required. They are not dated and, therefore, if a job gets cancelled at the last minute the permit is not wasted.
Buying the permits in bulk also means that you do not have to spend time queuing at the environment locals every time you work in a new location in Camden.
Registering, cost and where to park
First time applicants cannot register online.
You must register with us in person and be issued with a personal login.
- To register you should call in to any of the environment locals, complete an application form and show proof of the name of your company. This can be shown on headed paper, a business rate bill, Membership of a Builders Association, or a VAT request/receipt.
- When you complete your application form, please ask for a map showing the areas in which your permits will be valid.
- The cost of registration is £10 per vehicle, per year. When registering we will need to see the V5C document for each vehicle, in the builder's name or company name.
- You will then be issued with an electronic permit to be displayed in the vehicle while in Camden. Once you have registered, you can buy scratch-off permits, to be displayed alongside the electronic permit.
- All subsequent renewals and changes of vehicle registration numbers can be done online by logging in to your personal home page. If you lose or mislay your personal login, call us on 020 7974 4646, you can also call us on this number to request further permits.
- The scratch off permits cost the same as Permission to Park Notices (these are still available), which is £33 per permit, per day (from 1 April 2008).*
- Each permit is valid borough wide.
- The permits are valid for full days only, between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
- Parking, with a valid permit, is allowed in resident permit holders’ bays only in the areas printed on the permit. However, we cannot guarantee a parking space in the street in which the builder is working.
- The permits cannot be used to park on yellow lines, pay and display bays, disabled bays, doctors' bays, traders' bays, diplomatic bays, loading bays or any suspended bays.
*All permits purchased before 1 April 2008, will remain valid after this date.
