Welcome to our Green promise page
In 2009 we will have different themes to our scheme each month, with special 'guest promises' related to the theme. To celebrate Bike Week (13-21), June's theme is cycling - one of the best things you can do for the environment.
Why cycle?
There are many benefits to cycling and the sooner you get moving the better.
Make cycling a part of your daily commute is a great way to keep fit; by cycling at a moderate pace for 30 minutes you can burn up to 200 calories. Furthermore, cycling is a great alternative for journeys over short distances and may prove to be quicker. By cycling you can also help reduce carbon dioxide emissions and noise pollution. Also, in these financially difficult times, cycling may be a great way to save money and enjoy an inexpensive day out.
Guest promise
I will cycle to and from work or school for at least three times a week - make your promise online
Please send photos of you in the act of your promise to smallsteps@camden.gov.uk, and if you upload a video to YouTube and send us the link, we will upload it onto our YouTube channel
