Volunteering projects
Voluntary projects currently supporting the sport & physical activity team:
Try Swimming Camden is a programme that has been developed to offer inclusive swimming opportunities to older people and disabled adults. Volunteers work with participants on a 1:1 basis to help participants to access the pool and take part in the water–based sessions.
Some participants also need support in getting from home to the session and back again.
The PAPA project has developed a team of volunteers who encourage and support the use of outdoor gyms in Camden. PAPA's help, encourage and support their peers and members of the public in the use of the outdoor gyms.
The Ambassador programme was designed to train individuals who then go out into the community to raise awareness of the wide range of sport & physical activity opportunities on offer across the borough and motivate people to become more active.
