Parks and open spaces

Managing and maintaining Camden’s green spaces

The grounds maintenance contract which looks after our borough’s parks and open spaces is due to end in 2017. We are now working on our procurement strategy for the next contract and, as part of that, we have engaged with residents to explore how these spaces could be maintained differently to achieve financial savings.

The online survey has now closed. We received 690 completed surveys as well as comments on social media during the engagement period from 17 September to 30 October. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback. We are considering all of the responses and your comments will inform our proposal for the new way of delivering the service. This will be presented to Camden’s Cabinet early next year.

Parks and open spaces

Open spaces help improve the quality of life for people living in, working in and visiting the area. Camden Council manages 68 parks and open spaces, many of which are important historically, such as former burial grounds, manors, private gardens and London squares.

You can download a complete guide to Camden’s parks and open spaces below. This includes full details of park facilities and travel information.
