Camden will be buzzing this summer as a host of community festivals and street parties kick-off around the borough, bringing summer sizzle to our streets.

The paved area is ringed by up to 40 stalls taken by community groups e.g. tenants associations, arts and crafts classes. In the centre of the oaved area groups perform the musical entertainment with one main group being professional but usually Camden based and the others usually local groups.

The Bangladeshi community is the largest BME community in Camden, estimated to be 10% of the population in Camden. There will be 100 stalls at Regents Park selling food, clothes, handicrafts, books etc. from Bangladesh. The British museum event will be taking place on the 4th of July and Regents Park event on the 5th of July.

Kilburn festival is beginning its "Celebrating Kilburn’s diverse communities programme" which each year will highlight the cultural and social impact of some of the many different cultures that have made Kilburn their home. We will work with disabled people, volunteers, people from different cultures, young people, new arts partnerships and hard to reach Camden residents in the planning and delivering of the event.

Kings Cross county show is a community festival that is organised by a committee that includes local residents, voluntary sector organisations, statuary sector partners and local business partners. The festival is a day filled with fun, with over 65 stalls that will sell and promote a wide range of items. There will be a stage with a diverse range of entertainment, music and dance from all over the world.

The Gayton festival is an annual community street party that has been running for over 30 years. There is a focus on children and a clown roams the streets entertaining and interacting with the younger children especially. We also have face painters and a local band playing children’s songs.

Lady Somerset road street party is a community event which directly engages a high proportion of the residents of our neighbourhood. The focus is on inclusion of local artists, including artists with disabilities, on local capacity building and on activities which can overcome the barriers between younger and older residents.

There will be various events throughout the week including: Films at Belsize Library, Demonstrations, On Friday 25th there will be a showing of The Age Of Stupid, with a discussion after, On Saturday 26th September there will be a Foraging Workshop to Hampstead Heath, a Green Fair on Haverstock Hill, which will include lots of stalls, food tasting, activities and demos, e.g. bicycle repair workshops, Story Telling in a WigWam.. And on Sunday 27th Sept, we area planning a Sunday Feast, with locally grown/home made food to share...
