Arts and tourism
Camden is one of the most thriving areas for the arts in Europe. It houses many of London’s and the UK’s leading cultural institutions such as the British Museum and the British Library
Camden is also the home of many mid and small-scale creative organisations such as Hampstead Theatre, Camden Arts Centre and The Roundhouse
Camden also houses the Swiss Cottage Gallery which is situated within Swiss Cottage Library, exhibiting works from local artists to engage with the local community.
Our arts service provides an advisory and support role for arts organisations and artists in Camden as well as ensuring the development of high quality arts activity within the borough.
We support several of major arts organisations in Camden through annual revenue grants. We also provide funding to small-scale arts projects through our creative small grant scheme
We work with community and arts organizations to deliver a range of initiatives each year including festivals and an annual film production scheme. Camden also works in partnership with, provides support and in some cases funding to, creative organizations who provide services to the public. This includes the Roundhouse, The Place, The Drill Hall and Camden Arts Centre.
