I am a council tenant
There are lots of reasons you might want to find out more about your housing options as a council tenant:
- being over crowded
- wanting to move to a smaller home
- needing to live in a different area
- about to be evicted
I would like to move to a new home
If you are a council tenant and would like to move to a new home more suitable for your needs there are a variety of options available to you.
Your options include:
- swapping homes with another tenant who is looking for a home like yours through mutual exchange
- renting privately or buying a home
- there are also ways we can help you to move outside of Camden. In some cases you may be able to access our tenant’s options fund to assist you with your move
- apply to Camden Council for a transfer.
If you choose to apply for a transfer you should be aware that few applicants are awarded enough points to bid successfully for an alternative property. We can not guarantee to rehouse you.
I need some advice
I am about to be evicted
If you are about to be evicted from council accommodation you should contact your district housing office as soon as possible.
