Play service
We currently provide school based breakfast clubs, after school clubs, holiday playschemes and community-based activity programmes for children and young people aged between four and thirteen years old.
As well as projects based in local communities and schools, we run specialist services for vulnerable children, young people and their families with varying needs.
Changes to the play service
From September 2012, we will no longer provide universal play provision, but instead offer a service for those children who most need help with some subsidised places for children from low income working families.
We are pleased to announce the new providers that will deliver Play and Childcare, linked to schools from September 2012. The providers are Coram’s Fields, Maiden Lane Community Centre (operating from Camden Square Play Centre), PACE (operating from Fairfield Playcentre, Samuel Lithgow, and Fortune Green Playcentre) and The Three Acres Consortium (operating from Plot 10, Talacre, Three Acres and The Winchester Project).
These organisations will be commissioned by the local authority to deliver Play and Childcare for children with disabilities and children in need.
We are very pleased that we can also subsidise places for children from low income working families. Our new providers are also exploring ways to offer places to families that do not meet the local authority criteria.
Further details about eligibility and how to apply will be available shortly.
