If you are starting a higher education course in the academic year 2010-2011 you should contact Student Finance England
Financial help that is available
Full-time courses
- student loan for fees
- student loan for maintenance
- a non-repayable maintenance grant or special support grant
- bursaries and scholarships from your university or college
Other financial help available
- disabled students allowances if you have a disability or specific learning difficulty and face additional costs to study
- childcare grants and a parents learning allowance if you have children
- adult dependant grant if you have another adult who is dependant on you while you study
Part-time courses
- a tuition fee grant
- a course grant
- disabled students allowances if you have a disability or specific learning difficulty and face additional costs to study
Postgraduate study
- disabled students allowance for some full and part time courses
NB: The student support system does not provide (with the exception of postgraduate Certificates in Education) the same support for postgraduate as for undergraduate study.
There are qualifying conditions to be eligible for the help and the some grants and the loan maintenance is subject to an income means test.

How to apply for financial help
New full-time students
Student Finance is provided by Student Finance England. You can apply online or download an application form from the Student Finance England website.
Continuing full-time students
Applications from students who are continuing on a course that they started prior to the Autumn 2009 and received higher education via Camden can apply for continuing finance either online or by downloading a PR1 continuing student form
Part-time students
You can apply for finance for a part-time course by downloading an application for part time higher education student finance from July 2010.
Completed forms should be sent to the student finance team at Camden for those who received for a course supported by grants via Camden prior to the Autumn 2009. For courses started after that date applications must direct to Student Finance England, PO Box 210 Darlington DL1 9H
Postgraduate students
Details of the financial help available to students on postgraduate courses are available from Student Finance England
Students who are in receipt of postgraduate Disabled Students Allowances for continuing courses will continue to be supported via Camden.
Transfer of functions to Student Finance England 1 April 2011
Please note: The administration of all student finance support provision (including continuing students) will be transferred to Student Finance England with effect from 1 April 2011.
