What does BSF mean for Camden schools?
BSF is not simply a construction programme, it is part of a range of changes which will transform secondary learning for Camden's children and young people:
All Camden secondary schools have produced a strategy for change, setting out how BSF will transform learning. Below are the strategies for the 'sample' schools. These schools are the in the first phase of the BSF programme:

Camden BSF bidders
We are currently in dialogue with two bidders.
We aim to select a strategic partner to enter in to a BSF Local Education Partnership (LEP). The partner/consortium will supply the complete range of design, construction, facilities management and ICT services involved in the Building Schools for the Future programme.
We held a BSF bidders' day on 27 Feb 2009. Read more about this event, including presentations, who attended and Camden's Pupil Briefs
On 6 April 2009 we published a notice in the Official Journal of the European Union. A copy of the notice and all the contract documents are available here
From the responses received, we shortlisted two bidders who met the pre-qualifying criteria. The bidders are:
- BAM Public Private Partnership
- Bouygues Partnership for Education and the Community
The first phase of dialogue lasts until September 2009, when bidders submit their response. The responses will be evaluated, and at the end of October 2009 a second phase of dialogue takes place.
By May 2010 we will confirm the selected bidder and start the preparations for the programme to begin. The LEP will be set up and building work is likely to start in late September 2010.
