Strategies and plans
Some areas of the council’s work are particularly challenging, requiring large scale change and/or close working between different teams and with partners. In such cases, the council produces a strategy or plan setting out how it will tackle the issues.
Some of these strategies and plans are statutory, i.e. required by the government. All fit in with the borough’s overarching community strategy, Camden Together.
Camden’s most important strategies and plans are:
- Unitary Development Plan to be replaced by the Local Development Framework in 2010
- Children and young people’s plan
- CamdenSafe 2008/11: community safety partnership strategy
- Camden’s housing strategy 2005-2010
- Camden’s plan for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Camden’s Local Implementation Plan for transport 2005-2011
- Serving older people strategy
- Camden's Quality of Life Strategy for Older Citizens
- Green transport strategy 2008-2012
- Open space strategy 2006-2011
- Information and communication techology (ICT) strategy
