Community Strategy
Camden Together is Camden’s sustainable community strategy. Launched in April 2007, it sets out the vision for the borough until 2012.
You can read community strategy online or download a copy from the Camden Together website, which is an on-going resource on the community strategy. Camden Together is Camden’s second community strategy - the first Our Camden, Our Future - ran between 2001 and 2006.
The overall vision is for Camden to be a borough of opportunity. There are four themes in the vision:
- a sustainable Camden that adapts to a growing population
- a strong Camden economy that includes everyone
- a connected Camden community where people lead active, healthy lives
- a safe Camden that is a vibrant part of our world city
In each of these themes there are specific goals and commitments that the Council and its partners in the Local Strategic Partnership have agreed. The strategy also sets out what local people can do to help deliver the vision.
The community strategy is based on extensive consultation carried out in late 2006. Over 1200 people took an active role in the consultation and a large number of events were held. These events included councillors leading public meetings across the borough to discuss what Camden should look like in 2012.
